Stella Ladao received her Doctor of Chiropractic upon graduating from Life University in 1998. After working successfully in other multi- disciplinary private practice settings, she helped establish Hands On Rehabilitation in the spring of 2008. Her mission was to create a practice where the best ideas of all manual therapy based rehabilitation methods could be combined to best serve her patients.
Dr. Stella, as her patients affectionately call her, is known for her gentle but effective Chiropractic adjustments and skilled soft tissue manipulation techniques. Aleksey Khomenko B.S., LMT is the practice manager and marketing director of Hands On Rehabilitation. As an accomplished licensed massage therapist, Aleksey has seventeen years experience of rehabilitating people to full health using the finest manual techniques. As the leading massage therapist of the facility, Aleksey insures all of our treatments fulfill the needs of the patient insuring their complete satisfaction and return to function. Aleksey’s experience, gained through treating thousands of patients, allows him to quickly determine the patient’s needs and help them speedily and efficiently complete their therapy.
Aleksey was born and raised in the Ukraine. Since the age of twelve, Aleksey has been a professional weightlifter and holds two national championship titles in the 52 kilogram category. At eighteen years old, he became a Master of Sport in The Former USSR, which is known as the highest honor in sports. Soon after, Aleksey enrolled at Lvov State Institute of Physical Culture in Ukraine, where he studied Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation for five years. When he immigrated to The United States, he graduated from the Somerset School of Massage Therapy and became a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. Aleksey is licensed to practice Massage and Body Work in the states of New York and New Jersey.
Since becoming a massage therapist, Aleksey sought out the finest rehabilitation centers to continuously hone his skills. He holds many certificates and continues his education in: Therapeutic, Deep tissue, Myofascial, Neuro-Muscular, Stress & Pain Reduction, Sport, Prenatal, and Swedish massage and Joint mobilization and stretching techniques

Peter joined Hands On Rehabilitation in 2008 to fill the integral role of Physical Therapy Director. As an accomplished Physical Therapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Pete brings unmatched expertise and over 10 years experience to our practice. As our leading therapist, Peter insures all our treatments adhere to the highest of clinical standards to insure the best outcome for our patients. To this end, he has implemented the principles of the Selective Functional Movement Assessment, a cutting edge physical therapy method of evaluation and treatment.
Most recently, Peter served as a Clinical Applications Specialist for Performance Health Technologies. Here his responsibilities included providing thorough product and clinical applications testing, and leading product development in terms of function and relevance to the therapy and fitness communities. Prior to this position, Peter owned and operated his own practice where he sought to combine cutting edge exercise techniques with time proven manual therapy treatments to optimize patient outcomes.
Pete served in the United States Marines Corps and was honorably discharged in 1992, and received his Master's degree in Physical Therapy from the College of Staten Island in 1999. Furthermore, Peter has been an active competitor and enthusiast in the powerlifting, weightlifting and kettlebell strength disciplines. Peter is also a part owner of several medical technology patents.
Charmaine Tiu, PT was awarded her BS in Physical Therapy from Quezon City Medical Center and College in March 2000. Seeking greater career opportunity, she soon immigrated to the United States. While here she honed her clinical skills in outpatient Physical Therapy with a focus on manual therapy techniques such as soft tissue mobilization and Kinesio-taping.
Charmaine is licensed to practice PT in both New York and New Jersey. Prior to joining the Hands On Rehabilitation team, Charmaine worked at New Millennium Medical Health Center. While there, she perfected the management of patient outcomes as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Geraldine (Geri) Lagrua MSPT - Geri has been on the cutting edge of fitness and rehabilitation since the mid 1980’s. She began her career as an exercise physiologist. It was at this point that Geri’s talents for innovation were recognized and she quickly became a Fitness Director for a community based fitness center. Geri was among the first professionals to recognize the role of the core in fitness, athletic development and prevention of back injuries. Furthermore, she also developed cutting edge fitness programs for special populations such as the mentally handicapped and senior citizens. Working with these clients inspired Geri to take the next step in her career and become a Physical Therapist. Her innovation and varied experience quickly came in handy as she proceeded to open a very well respected private practice and was highly sought out as a public speaker for topics pertaining to wellness. Geri’s talents are not limited to the clinical realm; since 1991 she has been an Adjunct Associate Professor with Long Island University in both the Department of Sports Sciences and Physical Therapy. Her commitment to education in also evident in the numerous presentations and research projects she has performed over the last twenty years.
Geri now brings her intuitive touch and caring personality to Hands On Rehabilitation as our resident expert in Women’s Health. Women’s Health Physical Therapy is a highly specialized field dealing with the problems of incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction and pain. These problems may arise with childbirth, age and injury and can frequently be very distressing for those who suffer from such ailments. Geri’s unique skills, coupled with her sympathetic personality can bring hope and lasting relief to these patients. Geri is also a highly skilled manual and orthopedic Physical Therapist.
Educator, fitness professional and now Physical Therapist; Geri has truly travelled down many roads in her career. That’s probably why going the extra mile for her patients comes so easily to Geri.
Dr. Ewa D’Silva graduated from New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1993 and completed a vigorous 2 year residency in 1995. She possesses unrivaled expertise in the management of the diabetic foot and in wound care. Dr. D’Silva’s skill levels are also enhanced by the fact that she was a Nurse prior to achieving her Podiatry Doctorate. As a Nurse, she specialized in Emergency Medicine and wound care. All in all her medical career spans 20 years. Furthermore, Dr. D’Silva served honorably in the United States Navy achieving the rank of Lieutenant before her service ended.

Dmitri Petrychenko, MD completed his Surgery Internship at Department of Surgery, Brooklyn Hospital in Brooklyn and residency in anesthesiology at the Department of Anesthesiology, SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn. During that time Dmitri was working at Kings County Hospital Center and Long Island College Hospital. Mr. Petrychenko also completed a fellowship in Pain Management at SUNY Health Science Center. Since then Dmitri was working as an Attending Anesthesiologist at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn. Prior to establishing a private practice Mr. Petrychenko worked as an Attending Pain Medicine Specialist and was employed as an Attending Anesthesiologist in other office-based anesthesia groups.

J. K. Kuan graduated with honors from Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) with a Doctor’s degree in Chiropractic and a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. There he received the Outstanding Service Award for his individual contributions to the college, made the Dean’s List, and was recognized by the California State Assembly for his steadfast commitment to the community and outstanding leadership in Traditional Asian Medicine and Health Sciences. During his college career, Kuan has been listed in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities for two consecutive years. He is deeply passionate about his work in alternative medicine, and joyfully shares his knowledge and skills with the community.
Dr. J. K. Kuan is National Board Certified (NCCAOM) (NBCE) and a Licensed Chiropractic Physician and Acupuncturist in the State of New Jersey and he also offers cosmetic acupuncture (facial rejuvenation), TCM nutritional therapy, smoking cessation, “needles-less” auricular (ear) acupuncture therapy and Tai Chi class.
